Privacy Policy

The short version

Taledew runs entirely on your device. We do not run any servers. We do not collect, receive, store, or transmit any personal information about you or your child. There are no accounts on our side, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking.

Because your information never leaves your device, there is nothing for us to misuse, lose, or share. This is the whole point of how Taledew is built.

Effective Date

This Privacy Policy is effective as of June 8, 2026.

Taledew is made by Povilas Konopackas, an independent app developer (sole proprietor) based in Lithuania.

Everything Stays on Your Device

Taledew is an offline, on-device app. Stories, choices, narration, voice input, illustrations, and any keepsake book file are all created and kept on your iPhone or iPad.

We, the developer, never receive this information. There is no Taledew server, database, or cloud account that holds your data.

What Is Stored on Your Device

The app saves the following on your device only, so it can work and remember your preferences:

A child's first name (used to make your child the hero of a story), a broad age band (3 to 5, 6 to 8, or 9), and a chosen hero look (skin tone, hair, outfit).

Stories your child saves, including the choices made in them.

Your app settings, such as which mode is enabled and any time limits you set.

If you choose to sign in with Apple (this is optional), the identifier Apple provides and the email you choose to share are stored only on your device to keep your settings together. They are never sent to us.

If your device backs up to your own iCloud account, this on-device data may be included in your private Apple backup, which only you control. We have no access to it.

Children's Privacy

Taledew is designed for children ages 3 to 9 and is built for the Apple Kids Category. Parents and guardians set everything up; children do not create accounts.

Because the app does not collect, transmit, or disclose any personal information from anyone, including children, to us or to any third party, it is built to avoid the data practices that laws such as the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are concerned with.

A parental gate (a simple challenge a young child cannot easily pass) protects purchases and settings.

Voice Input

If your child speaks an idea, speech is turned into text using Apple's on-device speech recognition. The app requests on-device recognition so the audio is processed locally and is not sent to Apple's servers or to us.

The audio is not recorded or saved. Only the on-device text result is used to help shape the story in that moment.

Story Generation

Stories are built on your device. The guided Storybook mode assembles tales from story frameworks that ship inside the app. The Create Together mode helps your child shape a new story from their own choices and ideas, and this also happens on your device.

No story input or output is sent to us or to any outside service.

Keepsake Book Files

If you make a keepsake book, the app creates a printable file (a PDF) on your device. You can save it, print it, or share it yourself using your own device features.

We do not receive, store, or print this file, and we do not handle any shipping or addresses. If you choose to print or order a copy through a service of your own, that is between you and that service, under their terms and privacy policy.

Subscriptions and Payments

Subscriptions are handled by Apple through your App Store account. Apple processes all payments. We never see or store your payment card, bank details, or billing address.

We receive only anonymous, aggregate sales information from Apple, which does not identify you or your child.

No Ads, No Tracking, No Third Parties

Taledew contains no third-party advertising and no behavioral tracking. We do not use advertising identifiers (such as IDFA).

We do not embed third-party advertising or analytics software. There are no social network buttons or outside content embedded in the child-facing parts of the app.

Your Controls

Because all data lives on your device, you are in full control. You can edit or delete a child's profile and saved stories at any time from the parent area, and deleting the app removes all of its data from your device.

There is no data held by us to request, export, or delete, because we do not hold any.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever add a feature that changes how data is handled, we will update this policy and show it in the app before that feature is used. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
